LGTBI Rural: visible or invisible
And these days when we all talk about people's freedom, about the ability to decide about our own sexuality, we are presented with the added problem of living in the rural world.
Cities give you that halo of invisibility under which it is easy to go unnoticed, but when you find yourself in the rural world that halo disappears, sometimes the fact that it disappears lends closeness, affection and humanizes us, but when we face intolerance It looks sharpened. This has caused a constant LGTBI exodus from rural areas, losing not only the ability to decide about our own sexuality but also conditioning us on where we can live.
From Cuenqueando we call for plurality, tolerance, respect... Many of us have found in rural areas that return to our origin, to our land, after years in big cities we return to our refuge, and that should be the rural world, a refuge and guarantee for all people who want to populate our lands regardless of any condition. So from your town you have a lot to say, a lot to offer and many rights to restore because no one should experience the prejudice of ignorance.
